National Aphasia Association (NAA)
Project: Website - Aphasia.org (in development)

National Aphasia Association is the largest Aphasia website in the US, and serves as the primary destination for the Aphasia community. WS designed a sophisticated website to serve as a gateway to a geographical mash up of health providers, support groups and fellow community members. Features added included a blog, forums and a searchable community database.
City Lore – Place Matters

Project: Web development - Placematters.net

 

In this second project with City Lore, WS helped re-launch, redesign and expand their sister site placematters.net, using a Drupal framework.The Place Matters mission is to foster the conservation of New York City's historically and culturally significant places. These are places that hold memories and anchor traditions for individuals and communities, and that help tell the history of the city as a whole.

 

Accomplish, LLC

Project: Web application - Accomplish.com

 

Accomplish.com, a social tool in alpha release, provides an innovative interface through which users can create a profile and content for their goals, promote their goals and interact with the community. WS provided the initial core interface and interactive design for this start-up and is working on releasing a beta mode.

 

Zarif Design
Project: Website - Zarifdesign.com
 
Zarif Design is an Afghan apparel company with contemporary Western influences that required a web presence to market its line globally. WS developed a site to display product and press/promotion for this start-up business.
Good Counsel Homes
Project: Website - Goodcounselhomes.org
 
Good Counsel Homes is a non-profit that provides safe housing to pregnant women at risk. WS created a user-friendly interface that enhanced content accessibility and is executing a proposed site revamp that requires new architecture, a redesign and a new interface. Additionally, WS developed a secure private web area with a centralized database accessible only to GCH staff.
Camp Kinderland
Project: Website - Campkinderland.org
 
Camp Kinderland is a summer camp located in Massachusetts for young boys and girls. WS completely redesigned and re-launched the former site providing comprehensive Information architecture, improved interaction and navigation, interactive facilities map, online forms, Flash animation, donations and fee payment options.
Cook For Love
Project: website - Cookforlove.org

Cook for Love is a culinary non-for-profit dedicated to supporting the PKU community. PKU (phenylketonuria) is a rare inherited metabolic disorder that, if untreated, can cause mental retardation and other neurological problems and affects approximately 1 in 12,000 people.
Manhattan Borough President’s Office (MBPO)
 
Project: Web application
 
WS created the first-ever online Budget Priorities Survey for Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer’s office. Historically, the NYC budget has been subject to citizen review through public hearings, which have typically been attended by 100-200 persons. The opening of this web-based online survey enabled an unprecedented nearly 3,000 voters (over 80% of the subscribers) due to its platform and usable design.
International War and Peace Reporting (IWPR)



Project: Web Applications

International War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an award-winning charity that informs the international debate on conflict by connecting local media with civil society to identify the issues adversely affecting a population. WS designed and built a web-based media pipeline that allows IWPR staff in the field to upload, edit, agggregate and distribute images, audio and video assets. IWPR is expanding this media pipeline to allow other NGO and media partners to utilize the web application framework and repository.
